美術と人をつなぐ「アンフォルメル」

大阪中之島美術館は、街に開かれた公園と建物の間のような美術館です。

建築と家具のデザインによって訪れる人がそれぞれ自由に振る舞うことを促す、美術館のコモンスペースを提案しました。それは、受動的に美術を鑑賞するというよりは、能動的に美術を感じてもらうための場所となります。

隆起する地形のような面は不均質であるがゆえ、一つの家具の中で多種多様な使い方や居場所を生むことができます。ゆるやかな面は人々の活動を大らかに包み込み、非定型で、個々によって違う自由な振舞いを促します。

たとえば、深く座り熟考する人、軽く腰を掛け休む人、家具にからだを委ねて風景を眺める人など。

来館者の活動が美術館に溢れ、パッサージュ内で日々巡る風景が新しい大阪中之島美術館の個性となり、中之島という街の新たな一角となることを目指しました。

“Informel”: Bridging Art and People

The Osaka Nakanoshima Museum is a museum nestled between a park and a building, open to the city.

We proposed a common space within the museum that encourages visitors to behave freely, facilitated by architectural and furniture design. Rather than passively observing art, this space is intended for actively experiencing art.

The uneven, terrain-like surfaces allow for diverse uses and spaces within a single piece of furniture. These gentle slopes warmly embrace the activities of people, promoting unorthodox and individually varied free behaviors.

For example, some might sit deeply in contemplation, others might lightly rest, while others might lean on the furniture to enjoy the view.

The activities of visitors overflow in the museum, with daily evolving scenes within the passages characterizing the new identity of the Osaka Nakanoshima Museum, aiming to become a new landmark in the Nakanoshima area.
